Author’s Log: NaNoWriMo 2023 Day 7
Day 7 of NaNoWriMo, and I'm not gonna lie, today sucked lifewise.
My dad's older brother, my uncle, ended up passing away last night after suddenly getting diagnosed with some sort of cancer. We don't know what it was, but one day, my dad was hanging out with him, and they were walking around with their younger brother. The next week, he was in the hospital, and just like that, he passed.
I've unfortunately had to go through a lot of loss this year on both sides of my family and with family friends. It seems to be the year of funerals for me, and just really sucks.
You can’t control when you lose people, so I want to give two bits of advice.
See your family when you can because you never know when it's gonna be the last time.
If you have the ability to go to the doctor often for checkups, do it! Your health is important, and you have no idea what's going on in your body until you take a look. I got the advice to have a yearly checkup near your birthday so you can easily remember the last time you had a checkup.
Overall, I'm glad I got my word count because it was a nice distraction, but I don't know what tomorrow's gonna look like.
