Author’s Log: NaNoWriMo 2022 Day 2

Day 2 of NaNoWriMo, and I'm already slowing down.

While brain-dumping the first two books yielded a lot of words, I didn't have the same luck with the next four. This makes sense because I was more sure about the plots for the first two books, and these middle books are more so just concepts at this point. For example, Book 5 is my Christmas book of the series, and all I know about this book is the fact that our main characters' extended families are coming into town to stay, and it causes tension in the house. What type of tension? I don't know. What's the mystery? No idea.

Books 7 through 9 have more plot bunnies hopping around, so hopefully, their brain dumps will yield more. But I'll leave that for another day.

I still wrote over 2,000 words today, which is more than enough to stay ahead. So good job me.

How do you feel about Your Work?: Pretty good. I'll definitely need to do more plotting and world-building for some of these books, but I expected that.

Something Fun that Happened Today: I did a calming wash day routine and watched Nancy Drew. Cozy Day vibes.
