Author’s Log: NaNoWriMo 2023 Day 30

Day 30 of NaNoWriMo, and I'm done with word counts for now.

While NaNoWriMo is great for pushing you out of your comfort zone and getting you writing, meeting the daily word count goal gets exhausting over time.

Even though I met the 50,000-word goal early, I still wanted to do the recommended minimum each day, and that took a lot of work, especially when I stopped writing my story.

I end this NaNoWriMo with a despised half-finished draft, a handful of journals, and a couple of blog posts. Not what I expected to have, but it's something.

I'll talk more about my feelings in my NaNoWriMo retrospective, but for now, I'm happy to be done with the challenge.
