Author’s Log: NaNoWriMo 2023 Day 12

Day 12 of NaNoWriMo, and I have hit the halfway point!

You read that right! I hit 25,000 words. I hit the halfway mark at this point last year, but it completely slipped my mind when I posted my count that day. This time, I'm fully aware and celebrating! I'll probably order some of my favorite food at one point this week to celebrate.

But seriously, I thought I was barely going to get to the 1,667 goal today, but once I got into a groove with multiple scenes, I added a lot in multiple places of my series. Next thing I knew, I was at 1,700, then I was at 2,000, then I was like 400 words away from 25K that I knew I just had to keep going until I hit it, and I did.

Having the little goals and watching the amount of words I had to write dwindle to nothing was so motivating for me, and I highly recommend that to other writers who just need to get their stories down on paper. Count down how many numbers you have left, not up.

Overall, feeling great right now!
