A Perfect Day in Paris Reading Challenge
Last year I made my own reading challenge for the first time, and I loved it! It was a Steampunk Mermaid challenge themed after one of my Works in Progress, and I had a fun time thinking up the prompts and finding books to fulfill them. So, of course, I had to do it again this year with a new theme.
This year I went with the theme of "A Perfect Day in Paris." I've been studying French for years, and I hope that one day I'll be able to travel to France to try it out. But until then, I will daydream about a perfect day in Paris, and I invite you to join my little fantasy for a couple of books.
First off, we have to go to ballet class. I started dancing when I was three and I did ballet specifically until the end of high school. It's good to go to a class now and then. Here are some prompts based on things from a ballet class.
Demi Plie - A Short Book (Under 200 Pages)
Pointe Shoes - A Book dealing with Ballet
First Position - A Book with a V in the Title
Pas de Chat - A Book with an Animal Companion in it
Adagio - A Book over 500 Pages
Pas de Deux - Two People on the Cover
Next, we're going on a date. Paris is the City of Love after all. Spending time with someone you love will always help make a perfect date. Here are the prompts.
The City of Love - A Book with Romance in it
Macaroons at Laduree - A Book with Food on the Cover
French Kisses - A Translated Work
Paris in the Rain - A Book with Water on the Cover
May I Have This Dance? - A Book that Intrigues You
This Perfect Moment - 2023 Release
Time to go Sightseeing. Paris is a city filled with rich history, and there are many monuments to document it. Let's see how many we can see with these prompts.
The Eiffel Tower - A Hyped Book
The Arc de Triomphe - A Memoir
The Garden of Versailles - A Book with Flowers on the Cover
The Louvre - A Book with Pictures in it
Les Champs-Elysees - A Book You Bought in 2022
The Catacombs - A Book with a Darker Tone to it
As the Sun sets, we're headed to Dinner on the Seine River. A Beautiful scene to be eating by. The menu is determining our reading prompts this time around.
Red Wine - A Purple Book
Brie - A Cheesy Rom-Com
Escargot - A Book Out of Your Comfort Zone
Ratatouille - A Book with a Movie Adaptation
Beouf Bourguignon - A Book with More than One Genre
Chocolate Crepes - A New to You Book by a Favorite Author
Finally, we're going to end the day by watching cozy movies in bed. Under the covers with a mug of your favorite warm drink is a perfect way to end a Perfect Day in Paris. Here are the movies we're watching and their prompts.
Whisper of the Heart - A Book about a Writer
Ever After - A Fairytale Retelling
The Sound of Music - A Classic
The Princess Diaries - A Book dealing with Royalty
Cinderella - An Underdog or Rags to Riches Story
The Parent Trap - A Book dealing with Family
Well, this is how I'm going to spend a perfect day in Paris in 2023. What books would you read for this challenge?
